The numbers seem overwhelming, the problem too big to solve.
How can I possibly make a difference?
God calls you to this mission. Start with love. Start with knowledge.

What is Orphan Sunday?
On Orphan Sunday, Christians around the globe celebrate the love of the God who “defends the cause of the fatherless” and calls us to do the same. Ultimately, Orphan Sunday makes God’s true character and the Gospel itself visible as God’s people explore and respond to His heart for the orphan in adoption, foster care, and global orphan ministry.
How will First Baptist of Brunswick observe Orphan Sunday?
Our objective is to worship the Father of the fatherless by:
Raising awareness regarding both his heart for the fatherless and the vast numbers and needs of orphaned and vulnerable children
Stimulating compassion like God’s for these children and families
Encouraging obedience to act in loving and caring ways as God both does and commands
Our Worship Service will include:
Worship through music and prayer
Updates on the global orphan care efforts of our missionaries Dave & Felicia Lee in Romana and Don & Sue Whipple in South Africa
Pastor and Jody Greetham will report on the current state of foster and orphan care in Medina County
Don Whipple will share a sermon on Biblical Orphanology.
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their affliction,
and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
